Some brief details on our destinations:

Flathead River

The Flathead River is a large western river with deep pools, wide channels and powerful runs. For the fly fishermen, the Flathead River offers a wide variety of opportunities from dry fly fishing to nymph fishing. The most common fish caught are the Westslope Cutthroat and Rainbow trout. Cutthroats are surface eaters and are caught up to 20 inches. The Rainbow is caught on both dry and nymph flies. Rainbows are commonly caught over 20 inches.

Swan River

This adventure offers the fly fisherman a complete wilderness experience. Nestled in the Swan Valley the Swan River is one of Montana's most panoramic rivers. Rainbow and Westslope Cutthroatare the most often caught fish. Due to catch and release regulations for the past decade the Swan River has many great opportunities to test your skill.

Mountain Lakes

Due to the size of some of the mountain lakes, Wild Trout Adventures offers motorboats and/or float tubes as part of this adventure. Motorboats are used to arrive to certain destinations on larger lakes, once we have arrived, we will apply float tubing techniques or fish from the boat. The mountain lakes are located in the Flathead Valley and Swan Valley. Created by Glaciers, these lakes have the most pristine waters around. Natural springs and runoff feed them from the mountains, which surround them. The mountain lakes contain Cutthroat Trout, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Grayling , Bull Trout, Northern Pike, Salmon, Kamaloops-Rainbow Trout, and Large Mouth Bass.
